Alpbach is an ideal choice for walkers, sightseers or for those who just want to relax in a place where time seems to have stood still. The whole of Alpbach is a 'picture book' alpine village, renowned for its beautiful floral balcony and window displays. With a superb value all-inclusive offering for summer 2010, guests to Alpbach can enjoy FREE use of summer lifts, local buses and swimming pools!
Walking
160kms of hiking routes offer some breathtaking views of the Alpbach valley. There are gentle strolls through the meadows or try the Wiedersberghorn, which can be reached by gondola. For ramblers who prefer more energetic walks try climbing the Gratlspitze ridge - 5-6 hours to walk the ridge and 4-5 hours to walk around it. The 'Panoramaweg' hike (approx. 2 hours 30 mins) offers excellent views and is an ideal introduction to the area. For more experienced walkers, The Alpbach gondola is open from approx 29/05-10/10, Reith 15/05-28/09 (closed on Fridays) and Kramsach 05/06-17/06 (weekends) and 18/06-05/10 daily. All guests staying in Alpbach can enjoy one FREE daily ascent/descent on each lift! A Kitzbüheler Alpen lift pass is available locally covering 32 lifts in Alpbach and the surrounding area (6-day adult approx. £40).
Activities
Alpbach welcomes visitors with open arms, providing a wealth of activities and entertainment, often for FREE! There is an extensive network of mountain bike trails, ranging from easy to extreme, a fun way to enjoy this beautiful valley. As well as an excellent FREE indoor heated swimming pool in Alpbach there is lots to do and a great choice of excursions to a variety of attractions in the Tirol and surrounding areas/countries. All local buses are FREE so you can explore to your heart's content. Take the bus to Rattenberg and enjoy a FREE guided tour or take the bus to Brixlegg or Münster and enjoy FREE use of their indoor swimming pools too!
