Resort Information
Seefeld is set amidst breathtaking scenery on a sunny plateau above Innsbruck. Normally there are no cars allowed in the colourful village centre after 10.00am, allowing you to wander around the shops and cafés to your heart's content. You can hire a horse-drawn buggy and see the beautiful meadows and mountains at a leisurely pace or take the Rosshütte Mountain Railway up towards the peaks - the views are wonderful! In the evenings the village offers a good range of nightspots with a choice of live music, dancing or intimate, cosy bars. Seefeld even has its own casino. Whatever you choose to do, it is all here for you in Seefeld!
Walking
Walking Seefeld has a great deal to offer walkers, starting with gentle strolls around the lake and ranging up to more demanding hikes, perhaps using the chairlift or mountain railway for easy access to the Karwendel mountains and Gschwandkopf. Enthusiasts must try the lovely Reitherspitz climb for its fabulous views of the Stubaier Alps. There are a number of themed self-guided walks including a bee nature trail and walks to the Leutasch Spirit Gorge, the stone circle and the Peace Bell in Mösern, which rings every day at 5.00pm. A number of lifts are open in summer. The cable car is open daily (approx. 9.15am-4.45pm) from late May (other lift opening dates/times vary). Guided walks Seefeld Tourist Office offers a full programme of guided walks of different levels, giving you a great opportunity to explore the area led by a fully qualified local mountain guide. All guests in Seefeld can participate on production of a valid 'Visitor Card' (issued by your hotel). The walks are great value, with a minimal cost for each walk (approx. £5 per person). For full details of the programme and how to register, please contact the tourist office on arrival. If you do intend to join some of these walks please make sure you bring comfortable walking boots with ankle support, waterproof clothing, a day rucksack and waterbottle.
