St. Wolfgang is one of Austria's most enchanting resorts, renowned for its beautiful 15th Century church and the 'White Horse Inn', made famous by the Operetta of the same name. A maze of cobbled streets lined with shops and cafés make up the traditional village centre. Take a trip on a lake steamer to one of the many nearby villages, or the rack-and-pinion railway will take you to the peak of the Schafberg. Culture and music are very much a part of St. Wolfgang's fine tradition, with regular events taking place all summer. Additional Information: You can choose to stay at the Hotel Leifer in St. Wolfgang for 7, or 14 nights.

Excursion highlights: Hallstatt: Sample Austria's most photographed town, pretty and picturesque. An ideal place to wile away the afternoon, this stunning village perched on the edge of the Hallstattersee is known as the jewel in the crown of the Austrian lakes district. Optional entrance to Salt Mines (approx. €24) or Ice Caves (approx. €27) can be arranged locally.
Berchtesgaden: Visit the famous 'Eagle's Nest' (Hitler's alpine retreat) perched on top of the Kehlstein mountain and after, take time to explore the pretty Bavarian town of Berchtesgaden with its cobbled streets, craft shops and cafés.
Lakes Tour: Experience Austria's lakes district with a tour of the region, from bustling Gmunden with a stop for lunch to tranquil Mondsee and a chance to visit the church where the Sound of Music marriage scene was filmed.
