Interlaken Resort Guide

Resort Information

Located midway between the lakes of Brienz and Thun, on the banks of the river Aare, Interlaken has so much to offer with flower-decked streets, attractive cafés and shops, views of the Jungfrau and a bustling town centre. Ferries and lake cruises leave from the ports at either side of Interlaken to visit the city of Thun, the dramatic castle at Spiez, the wood carving town of Brienz and the spectacular Giesbach waterfalls. We offer accommodation in Interlaken and the pretty villages of Bönigen and Iseltwald, both on Lake Brienz.

The 7 day Bernese Oberland Pass - available in Wengen, Grindelwald, Interlaken & Kandersteg - will give you 3 days of unlimited travel by rail, boat, bus & cableway and 4 days paying half price.

Walking

Walkers will be overwhelmed by the extensive range of walks, from gentle trails around the lake to strenuous hikes in the mountains around Wengen, Mürren and Grindelwald. With over 500kms of marked walks in the Jungfrau region there are many breathtaking mountain railway and cable car ascents to alpine trails and you can even walk to the caves of St Beatus.

These areas are made even more accessible using the 6 day Jungfraubahnen Pass (mountain/walking pass), allowing you to reach all walks in the region by rail, bus or cable car (excluding Jungfraujoch & Schilthorn, but a supplement can be paid locally).

Jungfraubahnen Pass: €111 consecutive days travel in the Jungfrau region (excludes Jungfraujoch and Schilthorn)
